Scheduled AC infrastructure upgrades - Monday 22nd October - Friday 21st December
Posted by Bob Woolley on 17 October 2018 04:57 PM
As part of Host Networks hardware evaluation and refresh process we will be replacing some of our existing CITEC Computer room air conditioning (CRAC) systems with new Vertiv (Ex-Emerson) systems in the coming weeks. This change will bring our infrastructure back to modern standards and allow us to take advantage of technological improvements along with improved parts and support availability. Performing AC replacement work will require that Host Networks operates our redundant cooling solutions and manually manages the facility airflow characteristics during certain times. These upgrades have been programmed with our cooling partner AG Coombs who has been responsible for cooling design and maintenance work at our BNE1 facility.
If you are using our Co-location, Dedicated servers, Cloud servers, Shared co-location or Web-hosting your service will not be affected due to Host Networks redundant cooling topology and multiple backup units.
To allow key parts of this installation to take place, Host Networks will be electing to use manual air conditioning controls during specific periods of time, especially while the raised floor area is open during the installation. During these times Host Networks facility temperatures and humidity may stray higher and lower than typical, our staff will be keeping a close eye on the environment and making adjustments as necessary.
Live updates for the start and completion of each upgrade event will be posted on our @HostNetworks twitter account.
